Octpia was found as a private label of Hitoshi Kojo in 2000.

The main aim is to publish my solo and collaborative recordings, and to inform my other activities like performances, installations and workshops.

I consider CD as a simple and useful tool to make an intimate sound installation in people's listening space. Also it could be an art work itself. Except the last release 'The Epidemic Symphony No.9', they were all published as limited homemade editions under 100 copies.

But, making and to storage those works became impossible, because of the nomadic life style , since I moved to Europe in 2004.

I'm wishing to find the situation to recover the activity again, but it sounds more realistic to consider the mp3 release on this website for now...

Otherwise my recent works have mostly published from other labels. Please check them on archive page of my website.

Therefore the function of the label section of this Octpia website is to introduce past titles, and the distribution of my publications for the time being. The sale has still been managing by my family's help in Japan. Those are available from here.
